We shipped a LINE Official Account bot that translates every message bidirectionally — 130+ languages on the Pro tier via Google Cloud, 12 quick-pick languages in the free / premium UI — in <1 second, with rich-text speech bubbles, Stripe subscriptions, and three tiers (free / premium / pro).
The hard part wasn't the translation — it was the polish. Self-healing watchdog so it auto-recovers from any failure mode within two minutes. Per-language tier-aware spam protection. Daily message limits that suggest upgrades without nagging. A cartoon-mascot brand identity that doesn't feel corporate.
